The broad focus of this session was the brief history of Art, including graphic design, art practise and photography up to 1920.
For graphic design, we spoke about:
The Blau Monuments
How the Chinese invented paper to help communicate
The 17th century advertising and how they needed to use different kind of fonts to get peoples attention
For Art we spoke about:
Medieval art and that tough us to be good else you will go to hell
How Gutenburg invented the machine to help continuous printing press
The renaissance which mean the rebirth of something
Baroque art which included painting or sculpturing
Romantic art
Victorian art
The Paris street map
Titian
Monet

For photography we spoke about:
Pictorialism
Camera Obscura
Abe Morell
Joseph Niepce
William Fox Talbot
Carte-de-visite - which was how they communicated as well. They would leave their pictures in the post box when the stop but no one is in, so the owner of the house know who it was by their face.
1860 Shops of photography studios but the camera would take about 30 minutes to take so the subjects would lean on a stand to hold their head steady.
