Severn Valley Railway Steam Gala
The Severn Valley Railway is a full-size standard-gauge railway line, running regular, mainly steam-hauled, passenger trains between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire, a distance of approximately sixteen miles.

The driver of the 43106 locomotive poses for passengers waiting at Bridgnorth.

My visit to the SVR was a chance for me to get out and use my camera and spend the day with my dad, who has a passion for anything steam related.
Leaving early in the morning, our road trip took us to the Kidderminster end of the line, where we boarded a train headed to Highley. After half an hour or so we departed the carriage and went in search of our first pint of the day.
After some general browsing and the occasional spot of train watching, we headed out of Highley station, looking for some Sunday lunch. This break gave me some time to warm up and take a look at the photos I had taken so far.

Highley Station.

I am always more than happy to leave the house and spend time taking pictures, especially when they are of something as magnificent as steam locomotives. I am always inspired by my fathers love for trains and plan to include his talent for railway modeling in a photo series or project in the future.
