Personal Skill Set Analysis
Conducting a SWOT analysis on myself, to identify my strengths and weaknesses.
Analysis Based on a Possible Career
By looking at a photography job I can begin to understand the skills and development need to help me achieve my career goals.

To do this I have focussed on the work of editorial photographers in the Motoring Magazine space. Many of these photographers travel to various locations and work with a journalistic writer to produce images that will fit with the text and theme of an article.
My specific inspiration comes from Richard Pardon, who takes photos for Top Gear Magazine, amongst other publications and brands.

SWOT Analysis Evaluation
There are many different photography careers that I could potentially pursue in the near future. Each different photography sector has its own set of unique skill sets that will be needed. However, it is entirely possible that different skills can be transferred between different sectors and applied in a different manner. By building a strong set of core photographic skills is important as it means that I can potentially pursue a much more vast number of careers. For example, having a knowledge of different lighting effects and techniques would be just as useful in a studio environment where you might be taking head shots, but just as useful in an editorial shoot on location in the mountains. Although my skills are still developing, I believe that I have a good core knowledge of lighting, that will help me across the board.
In the future I may be required to develop or learn new skills. For example, Adobe's Lightroom software program is constantly evolving and changing with new features being added to the program. To be able to have a strong work flow and a relevant technique it will be important to learn and use each new process as it is added to the software. Doing this could be beneficial as it might prove to be a process that is a good way of saving time or improving the quality of my edits. This is a continuation of the process of transferring the original skills learned from film/analogue photography and the darkroom and then applying them to the digital successors to this format.
