The following images are from our trip to Milton Keynes Museum. This was a very interesting visit, which gave me some more detailed insight into Milton Keynes as a new town.
Contained within the buildings onsite were numerous artefacts related to the unique culture of Milton Keynes. I gave it my best shot to capture these in an interesting way, which didn't make it feel like you were looking at images taken straight out of a visitors guide.
Whilst on location it was a perfect opportunity to capture some images of the iconic concrete cow sculptures. These are probably the most significant reason for visiting as they show a part of MK culture which is known by more than most.
For this photo shoot I have carried over the Barcelona preset that I created previously. It was a nice sunny day which evoked memories of Barcelona. Whilst experimenting in the edit I felt that this preset gave the images the best character and feel.
Really nice framing, with the Concrete Cows hidden in the background by the bokeh. A little bit like a easter egg for MK residents.
I love the way that the address is printed on the front of this ink pot, giving the image a definitive link to Milton Keynes. Additionally, the aqua blue really pops and draws the eye in.
The motion blur gives this image more dynamism than it would have had without. It has a nice soft pallet of reds throughout, which make it easy to look at.
Nice framing with splashes of blue all over, but not very relevant to the brief.
I find this image extremely appealing. I think it is something to do with the texture of the leaves on the right hand tree. They look soft to the touch and give a good sense of scale to the house.
Probably the most iconic part of the museum. I like the joint framing of the cow in the foreground and the tree in the background.
Good use of framing in this image, following the rule of thirds. I am also quite happy with fact I have managed to keep the skies exposure under control, whilst also retaining good levels of detail in the shadows. Could have been improved with the use of a human subject on the bench.
This image isn't very interesting and has framing issues due to it being taken through a door opening. The mannequins faces are also being obstructed by the supporting beams. Altogether not very relevant.
